JACKET: Alcott (similar) // JEGGINGS: Target // SHOES: Nike

Well I honestly was not expecting it to pour this entire day, but mother nature is a wild one!  This also happens to be the only day that we booked two outdoor walking tours that lasted 8 hours! Instead of cancelling, we decided to just man up, buy some jackets and umbrellas, and enjoy the sites. Even though it was wet and cold the entire day, this ended up being one of my favorite days. The earth always looks stunning once the sun starts to shine after the rain and it made for some pretty fantastic photos. I mean we did tour The Colosseum, The Forum and Ancient Ruins, Palatine hill, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and The Pantheon, so I don’t know how it couldn’t have been one of the best days ever! We found this store called Alcott {very similar to an H&M}, stocked up on some rain fighting essentials and took to the streets.

I picked up this jacket for under $20 and it compacts nicely for travel as well which was lovely because I sort of arrived with a full suitcase. I have learned my lesson though and next time will only pack half of what I think I need because you really always do want to buy things on Holiday, and I just didn’t have the room on this trip! I went with red for that extra pop of color so Michael could find me easily amongst the crowds in case I started to wander. These Nike Free Runs are pretty much the only runners I like to wear. I say if you really like a shoe, just buy it in every color, and so i did. I love the look of skinny jeans {or in this case jeggings} with a pair or cute runners especially if you plan on walking all day. The combination makes for a nice style meets comfort look. I had a few questions about how I got my bun to look so giant and my secret is… its two! I did a messy bun with half up half down and then just took the remaining hair and did the same thing and somehow they came out looking like one big one! The Colosseum from the outside is amazing on it’s own but I just wasn’t expecting how spectacular the views from the inside would be. I was completely blown away by such a masterpiece the Romans had built! Rome was a built overwhelming with all the tourists but this is definitely a sight not to be missed and I would go back for the Colosseum alone!
